Singing from the Heart of the Black Country

We are an ordinary family, asking you to help us achieve something extraordinary!

Isla is our gorgeous wonderful inspirational two year old who needs to go to New York in January for pioneering cancer treatment.

Here's why...

On her first birthday, Isla was diagnosed with Stage IV high-risk neuroblastoma, a very rare cancer.

Scans and tests revealed that Isla had four tumours. Her treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital has been superb in every way. Isla has responded well to an extensive treatment regime including chemotherapy, high-dose chemotherapy, stem cell transplant, many blood and platelet transfusions, radiotherapy, immunotherapy....and major surgery.

She has been very ill throughout, as these treatments aren't kind on such a little child, but she has made many amazing recoveries. Her determination shines through the smile on her face. She is simply an inspiration to everyone privileged to know her.

Unfortunately, high-risk neuroblastoma has a high rate of relapse, after which it is even harder to treat; the plain fact is that after relapse the survival rate is less than 1 in 10.

For Isla's family, the prospect of relapse is extremely real, but they remain positive and totally determined to do everything possible. So, with the support of Great Ormond Street Hospital, Isla's family has chosen to join the Bivalent Vaccine Clinical Trial at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York which is focused on the prevent of relapse.

Accessing the clinical trial in New York is not NHS funded, and the core cost, covering Isla's treatment, travel and accommodation is £155k.

This is a huge amount of money to raise but the family is working with "Solving Kids' Cancer" a charity specialising in helping children like Isla, as its name suggests.

Donors are assured that in the event of surplus, unused funds will help other children like Isla.
