The Fifties

The Story Began In May 1957

1957 "The Wall Heath Male Voice Choir" was founded in May 1957 with nine members, Harry Ord as Conductor, and Ralph Brookes as Accompanist. At Christmas, the choir held its first Carol Concert in aid of charity - raising just over £20.

We regularly raise approaching £4,000 for local charities at the same event now.

The picture below, which came into our possession recently courtesy of former member John Trafford, was taken in late 1957.
